The high acidity of apple cider vinegar makes it an inhospitable environment for blemish-causing bacteria growth ( which is also why so many holistic health practitioners advocate adding it to your diet too). Mixed with rosemary, a powerful astringent with ani-fungal properties, and mint, which helps to reduce redness and inflammation, this toner will not help to keep skin clear from future break outs but also will help to reduce the appearance and duration of any existing blemish, too.
For an astringent for combination, oily skin, you need:
1/2 cup water
2 sprigs rosemary, chopped
2 tablespoon chopped mint leaves
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
Bring water to a boil before adding the rosemary and the mint and reducing to a simmer for 10 minutes, uncovered.
let cool to room temperature and strain before adding the vinegar.
Transfer to a spray bottle and store in the fridge. Shake well and spritz on clean skin before bed. Follow with nighttime moisturizer.
